Barry Lyndon
<em>Barry Lyndon</em>, based on the novel <em>The Luck of Barry Lyndon</em> by William Makepeace Thackeray, follows the rise and fall of Redmond Barry as he tries to move up and secure a place in the high society scene that cares little for him. Stanley Kubrick's film follows Redmond Barry as he joins the British Army during the Seven Years' War, to his gambling days with the Chevalier, to his marriage to the countess of Lyndon, through his eventual downfall.
