Elyce Rae Helford, Ph.D., is professor of English and affiliate faculty in Women’s and Gender Studies at Middle Tennessee State University. She is also director of the Jewish and Holocaust Studies Minor Program. Helford’s research and teaching center in theories and representations of gender, race, class, and ethnicity in twentieth-century film, television, and literature. She has published journal articles and book chapters on texts from The Stepford Wives to the films of George Cukor. She is senior editor of Engaging the Woman Fantastic in Contemporary Media Culture (University of Mississippi Press, 2016) and is currently at work on a monograph with the working title George Cukor, Auteur: Assimilation and the Question of Artistry (Wayne State University Press, forthcoming).
